Kitchen
The Siematic kitchen, which was published in Home Magazine, is designed for looks and cooks. Features include Miele espresso maker, oven and dishwasher, Sub-Zero refrigerator & refrigerator drawers, Thermador oven/range/ hood, Dacor warming drawer and Gaggenau built in steamer. Also included are such features as a Franke pot filler, limestone main sink and Franke prep sink. Countertops are limestone, butcher block and stainless steel. A wood burning fireplace is at eye level with a surround carved from a single piece of river rock. Wood storage is directly below. The walls are plaster and the chimney is cement. Ceilings are clear fir. Views from the kitchen are of the living area and the ocean.
Living Area and Entry Hall
The living/dining/entertaining area is designed with versatility in mind. Because the low voltage lights are suspended from the clear fir ceiling the entire room may be used for dining, entertaining, or divided into different sections for daily life.
The Indian marble wood-burning fireplace is shaped in the Rumford style to minimize heat loss. The custom made minimalist screen on stainless steel castors rolls easily away for access. Insets on either side of the fireplace between the 18’ hand-rubbed lodgepole pine may be used for wood storage, artwork or sculpture. High quality stereo speakers and wiring are built into the walls.
This room boasts reclaimed antique heart pine hardwood floors, clear fir ceiling, plaster walls and Andersen doors/windows. The care and craftsmanship of these rooms is evidenced by the clean lines between the plaster and wood, eliminating the need for molding and baseboard. Views are of the ocean and lighthouse.
Entry
Cocktail party gatherings and wine bars are a wonderful use for this warmly contemporary entry. A powder room is conveniently located here. The front door is custom milled and fabricated from a 2600 year old redwood felled in Kings Canyon 25 years ago. Solid bronze hardware and sidelights compliment this unique doorway. A high skylight floods the area with natural light during the day and spotlights accent the height at night. As in the living room, antique heart pine, plaster and clear fir adorn the perimeter of the room. View is of the front deck and drive entry.
Den/Library/Bedroom
A cozy and warm retreat, the den features integrated colored plaster coated walls, custom fir bookshelves / ceiling and satille tile floor. Doors lead to a deck and stairway to the main deck off the living room. The adjoining bath is similar with marble vanity and shower. Views are of the garden, ocean and lighthouse.
Upstairs Bedroom
This large bedroom has an adjoining bath with verde marble shower and vanity top. Floors are heart pine and there are 2 large closets. Access to stand up storage area of approximately 200 square feet is located here. Sliding doors lead to a honed marble and redwood balcony. Views are of the mountains and second building.
